Luomo collective takes new Finnish design to Milan
Luomo collective, a group of young Finnish designers, is going to showcase their work at Milan furniture fair in April. The group will take part in Salone Satellite, which focuses on young rising talents. Luomo collective’s exhibition consists of furniture and lighting. By taking part in the Milan furniture fair Luomo collective will promote Finnish design and present the work of promising Finnish designers.
Luomo collective is formed by five young and talented Finnish designers, who have driven attention internationally. Luomo collective is Hanna-Kaarina Heikkilä, Anni Pitkäjärvi, Hanna Särökaari, Laura Väre ja Elina Ulvio. They have worked with different design companies and showcased their work in several exhibitions in Finland and abroad. At the moment all of the members of Luomo are studying at Aalto University of Arts, Design and Architecture in the department of Design with their Master Degree studies.
The inspiration of the exhibition comes from a heritage of unique Finnish atmospheres. The designs are clear, functional and have the spirit of scandinavian style and tradition, but with a modern twist. Natural materials such as wood, plywood and glass plays a big role in all of the design pieces.
The Milan furniture fair is the biggest event in the field on furniture design. The event begins April 12th and ends April 17th.
